APPG Report Launch: What is the impact of the new Immigration Rules on employers in the UK?
You are invited to an upcoming virtual event to launch the report 'The Impact of the New Immigration Rules on Employers in the UK'.
Tuesday, 21 September 2021
12.30 - 1.30 PM
Migration has always played a significant role for both small and large businesses and has enabled them to fill skills gaps or shortages in the UK labour market. On 1 January 2021, the UK’s new Points Based System came into effect. Last December the APPG heard from a range of employers about their hopes and fears for the new system. Working with Fragomen LLP, we then conducted an inquiry to hear, in real-time, the impacts that employers from different sectors and in different parts of the country were starting to experience. At this event, we will share the findings from this inquiry and discuss the reforms the Government could undertake to potentially ease the transition to new ways of working.
Chaired by Tim Farron MP
Speakers:
• Gemma Hyslop, a Manager and Solicitor at Fragomen LLP and author of the APPG inquiry report.
• Madeleine Sumption, Director of the Migration Observatory, Oxford and member of the Migration Advisory Committee.
Representatives from the Home Office and Parliament to be confirmed.
This event will be hosted on Zoom, with details to be provided to all registrants in advance.
