Alcohol Awareness Week webinars

This Alcohol Awareness Week, it’s time for us, and the places we work, to feel healthier, more productive and happier.

With longer hours, more stress, the blurring of lines between work and home, and too many workplace cultures placing booze, rather than people, at the centre of things, there are so many ways work and alcohol are linked.

Alcohol is a key public health issue in Brighton & Hove, with 44% of adults drinking at increasing risk, higher risk or possible dependence levels, according to Health Counts 2024.

The Public Health Team have partnered up with Change Live Grow, to invite you and your colleagues to one of our free, online workshops during the national campaign.

These short, engaging sessions, run by Julia Sabrowsky and David McNamara from our Health Promotion Team, will help build on your existing knowledge and awareness around alcohol, with topics including:

🔮 Myths & facts (via an interactive quiz)

🏙️ Society’s attitudes and patterns of consumption

🍷 Understanding alcohol units - and why they matter

⚖️ The benefits and costs of drinking

The sessions will be repeated on the three dates and times below:

• Tuesday 8th July, 3pm to 4pm

• Wednesday 9th July, 12pm to 1pm

• Thursday 10th July, 10am to 11am
