Is your Start-Up helping to accelerate the Government's path to Net-Zero? Want to raise awareness of your Start-Up across the UK and in the Middle East? If so, this competition is for you.
In March 2022, DIT partnered with Octopus Investments to launch this national scaleup competition to identify the best early-stage companies that will support the ambition to accelerate the UK’s path to Net Zero. Considering its success last year, DIT have again partnered with Octopus Investments to host the second edition of this competition.
The GBOT2 competition is being held in the UAE, aligning with the UAE’s significant role in hosting COP28 later in 2023 and the UAE’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050. As part of the UAE-UK Sovereign Investment Partnership, the UAE has committed to invest £10 billion in UK clean energy, technology, life sciences and infrastructure. This competition aims to identify and empower UK Start-ups that support DIT objectives to become a global leader in renewable energy, sustainability and agricultural technology.
The 5 selected winning companies will receive:
• Free return flights and accommodation to the UAE, plus a 2-day investor facing programme of events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
• A dinner hosted by HM Trade Commissioner, Simon Penney, at the UAE Consulate that will target UAE investors and key stakeholders.
• Promotion to a highly curated audience of international Venture Capitalists, Corporate Venture Capital investors, influencers, and wider tech ecosystems; and
• Promotion through wider DIT and Octopus Investments media channels, and judges’ networks.
• Inclusion in this year Green Builders of Tomorrow Lookbook (DIT Venture Capital Investment Brochure) shared with Venture Capital Units network of over 250 CVC and VC’s globally.
