The Big Debate: Net Zero

The Big Debate: Net Zero

Businesses need to re-think what they do, because getting to Net Zero means changing how they behave. Discuss!

80% of businesses in Sussex don’t know what their carbon footprint is. So how can they claim that they are reducing it?

The UN, and the UK government, are setting out ambitious targets for cutting carbon emissions. In manufacturing, data storage, logistics, energy, packaging, materials or travel – for all businesses it is not just operational decisions that will need to change, but how suppliers are chosen, and customers are informed.

And with a reputation for innovation, creativity and environmental activism – is it time for Brighton to lead the way?

Join Brighton Chamber’s next Big Debate, chaired by Richard Freeman, CEO of always possible on 30 March, where we’ll be hearing from a panel of experts:

• Kirsten Firth, Sustainability Projects Officer, Brighton & Hove City Council

• Peter Newell, Professor at University of Sussex

• Camille Pierson, Founder of The Float Spa

• Tom Willis, Chief Executive at Shoreham Port

Expect lightning talks panellists, open discussion with the opportunity to ask questions, plus networking and questions relevant to the topic discussed in small, facilitated groups.

Date: 30 March

Time: 4.30-6.30pm
