Enjoy life with the Pier’s new seagulls whilst exercising on Brighton seafront

Brighton Palace Pier is pleased to announce the completion of its new mural.

We are privileged to have the artist Cosmo Sarson paint this amazing mural for the benefit of all. It was a truly outstanding feat having to work from scaffolding high above the sea: the result is stunning and we hope you will enjoy Cosmo’s work.

At 25 metres long and 10 metres high, situated next to the iconic Helter Skelter at the far end of the Brighton Palace Pier, the mural is visible from several miles away and is a bold but light hearted addition to the Brighton Palace Pier skyline.

The mural pictures two seagulls with human bodies sat in deckchairs, relaxed and laughing, holding hands. Although the design was conceived before the coronavirus pandemic, it seems strangely appropriate.
While there’s been no one on the beaches, it looks like the seagulls have made themselves at home. Not a care in the world. Soon we’ll be back to share the seafront with our seagull friends.

In the meantime, look out for the mural, whilst on your daily walk, jog, swim or run. Now exercise outside is unlimited, enjoy the summer months on Brighton beach, taking in the sun, sea, and Cosmo Sarson’s laughing seagulls on Brighton Palace Pier.
