Road layout changes in Valley Gardens

Road layout changes in Valley Gardens

Work will begin on 22nd April, to reconstruct the junction of Marlborough Place where it meets North Road and Grand Parade.

As part of the Valley Gardens project, temporary traffic lights will be installed at the east end of North Road and on Grand Parade.  The existing crossing points for pedestrians will remain in place.

Traffic will be able to turn both north or south immediately after exiting North Road, replacing the current requirement to travel further east towards Grand Parade.

From Wednesday 29 April, work will then begin to resurface the carriageway resurfacing the junction of Marlborough Place with North Road, Gloucester Place and Grand Parade.  Pedestrian access will be maintained.

This work is due to be completed by the end of Friday 1 May and will take place during daytime hours, because of the current reduction in the number of vehicles on the road.  Dyer and Butler apologise for any inconvenience they may cause to motorists making essential journeys but the east side of Valley Gardens will remain open.

Contractors on site are undertaking daily risk assessments and talking steps to reduce spread of Covid-19. All are following guidance on social distancing and hygiene. Non-site staff are working from home.
