Residents living in the Queen’s Park area of Brighton are invited to join First Base, the company behind the £120 million Edward Street Quarter development, for a community event on Saturday 15 February in Dorset Gardens.
Guests will be welcomed with a live performance from The Brighton School of Samba at noon. The fun-filled afternoon will then continue with food, drinks and face painting inside The Verdict café which backs on to the Gardens.
Residents will be offered the opportunity to view the Edward Street Quarter construction site and representatives from First Base and McLaren Construction, the principal contractor, will be on-hand to answer any questions relating to the development.
The event will also offer residents the opportunity to speak with members of the First Base and McLaren teams about potential employment opportunities, and anyone who wishes to bring a CV along is invited to do so.
Liam Ronan-Chlond, Stakeholder & External Relations at First Base, commented: “With the buildings starting to take shape, we look forward to giving local residents a first glimpse of the progress so far. Our team will be on hand to answer any questions, talk about job opportunities and most importantly, have some fun.”
Edward Street Quarter is set to become a vibrant new social hub for the city, encompassing 110,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, 39,000 sq ft of retail, food, beverage and leisure units and 168 new apartments.
As part of the development process, First Base aims to implement a social value strategy which will bring the city an additional value of £500 million within the next 20 years.
