Brighton & Hove Brexit Planning – EUSS Briefing for Partners

Brighton & Hove City Council has published its latest briefing on the EU Settlement Scheme in Brighton & Hove. As well as containing information about support available in the city this also includes the latest statistics provided by the Home Office on 6th February 2020.  The statistics are broken down in terms of immigration status, nationality and age.

⃝ Feb 2020 Update: 14,970 EU citizens from Brighton & Hove have now applied to the scheme overall.  5,220 EU citizens applied to the scheme in the 3 months between 1st Oct 2019 and 31st Dec 2019. BHCC are currently working from an ONS estimate of 19,000 EU citizens in Brighton & Hove meaning there may be 4,000 or more citizens who need to apply to the scheme.  The current deadline for applications is 30th June 2021.

The next figures expected from the Home Office in May 2020 and the council will continue to update partners on developments.
