SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY TOUR TO VISIT BRIGHTON & HOVE

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY TOUR TO VISIT BRIGHTON & HOVE

Brighton & Hove’s small firms encouraged to sign up for free support and profiling from campaign’s UK roadshow

Small Business Saturday’s national roadshow will be coming to Brighton & Hove in November to shine a spotlight on the city’s entrepreneurs, and local firms are being encouraged to sign up and get involved.

Arriving at Jubilee Square in Brighton on 23rd November, ‘The Tour’ will visit and profile independent businesses as it swings by the city with a fleet of zero emissions vehicles - including an electric van, car and scooter, as well as a ‘delivery style’ push bike.

There will be an opportunity for local business owners, leaders and experts from across the small business community to be interviewed live on Small Business Saturday’s social media channels.

They will also be able to take part in a month-long, jam-packed online programme of free training and skills support that will run alongside, including virtual workshops, webinars and mentoring, on a range of small business topics.

Michelle Ovens, CBE, director of Small Business Saturday, said:

“We are so excited to get back on the road and put the spotlight on fantastic small businesses in Brighton & Hove and across the country, as well as opening up skills and networking opportunities to millions of entrepreneurs online,”

“I would encourage all small businesses across East Sussex to get involved, whether it is in person or digitally.”

Now in its ninth year in the UK, Small Business Saturday is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which celebrates small business success and encourages consumers to 'shop local' and to support businesses in their communities.

Setting off from the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, The Tour has a strong focus on sustainability, to highlight the critical role of small businesses in helping the UK achieve its goal of becoming net zero by 2050.

All of the action from The Tour can be followed live on Small Business Saturday’s Facebook and Instagram channels and the full Tour digital programme can be viewed at https://smallbusinesssaturdayuk.com/the-tour.

To get involved in The Tour and book one-to-one mentoring sessions, small businesses should visit the ‘My Business Section’ on the Small Business Saturday website.

The Tour will be located in Jubilee Square in Brighton & Hove City centre on Tuesday 23rd November, between 10am and 2pm for those wishing to drop by.
