Changes to Employment Rights for employers and businesses – information and resources

Following the passing of the Employment Rights Act 2025, it is important that employers are aware and prepared for how employment laws and workers' rights are changing. With measures coming into effect over the coming months and years in a pragmatic, phased approach, the UK Government is committed to ensuring support and guidance is available to all employers seeking to understand how these changes will impact their business, and to workers who want to learn about their new rights.

A new website has been launched - www.business.gov.uk/employment-changes, offering practical guidance and support on what the changes mean for employers and employees, and how they can get ready for upcoming changes. Content includes clear timelines, a summary of key changes and actions to take, and links to additional guidance.

Alongside this, a stakeholder toolkit has also been launched to help stakeholders share key information and messages around what employers need to know and how they can get ready for the changes coming over the next few months. This outlines the key changes coming into effect, how you can help your members/clients prepare, key messages, and suggested newsletter, website and social media content and assets.

You can also click here for the latest Employment Rights Act factsheets to explain individual measures within the Employment Rights Act in more detail, including their intentions, their impact and their expected timelines. We encourage you to refer to these and direct clients or partners to this material where possible.
