These events bring together employers, sector bodies and business networks from across Sussex to share insights on the skills your sector needs now and in the future.
Each workshop will feature:
• A guest sector speaker offering real-world insight into emerging trends and challenges
• Facilitated discussion to capture your views and priorities
• Time to network with other employers, partners and stakeholders from your sector
Why are these workshops being held?
Sussex Chamber is developing the next Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) for Sussex (2026–2029). LSIPs are employer-led plans that help ensure the skills system—across colleges, universities, training providers and wider partners—responds to genuine workforce needs.
Your contribution ensures that the LSIP remains employer-driven, evidence-based and aligned with what businesses really need to thrive.
How the LSIP has already helped Sussex businesses
Since the launch of the Sussex LSIP, employers have benefited from:
• New and updated training provision shaped directly by local employer feedback
• Supported the creation of modular provision to meet employer needs across digital, construction, manufacturing and green skills
• Improved collaboration between businesses and providers to design more relevant and industry-led curriculum
• Clearer talent pipelines, supporting recruitment and workforce development
• Stronger links between employers, FE, HE and sector bodies to address shared skills challenges
Your expertise will help ensure the next phase goes even further, with a sharper focus on sector-specific needs and future workforce priorities.
Benefits of taking part
By joining your sector workshop, you will:
• Influence future skills provision and workforce development
• Shape training and qualifications that better meet your needs
• Support a strong pipeline of local talent into your sector
• Contribute directly to a plan that will inform future investment and delivery
• Network with peers, partners and key organisations working in your field
