Brighton & Hove City Council Business Surgery – hosted by Councillor Ty Goddard, Brighton & Hove City Council lead and Cabinet Advisor on Economic Development, will be hosting a regular business surgery from our Business & IP Centre (BIPC) in Jubilee Library.
Listening to Business – delivering growth
The recent Council budget set out funding for an options study to expand the Business Improvement District which leads promotion, anti-crime measures and initiatives like Christmas lighting. The budget also agreed to fund a ‘business prospectus’ to promote business and investment into the city.
Autumn ’23’s city centre taskforce heard direct from business and will shortly introduce an appeals process for Fixed Penalty Notices. The taskforce outlined the case for a City Centre Manager and pressed for work to improve the area around Brighton Railway station- the key arrival point - and ‘grot spots’ across the city.
Brighton & Hove’s new Economic Plan that goes to Full Council in October 2024 re-affirms the council commitment to supporting and accelerating skills, jobs and sustainable growth across our city. The plan wants to see imaginative ways to reach communities and neighbourhoods and build on the work of the vibrant voluntary sector across the City.
