BHCC is making some changes to improve road safety in the Trafalgar Street area.
Road Closures
Operatives will close Trafalgar Street at its junction with Syndey Street to carry out work to dig up the old brick paving and replace it with a more durable tarmac surface. This is scheduled to take place:
From Monday 26 February for five days.
From Monday 18 March for five days.
Please note, all dates are subject to the progress of the work and weather permitting.
During the work, Sydney Street will be open to traffic from 6pm on the nights of Monday 26, Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 February.
During the closures, traffic will be able to access the area via Cheapside. Deliveries to businesses in Sydney Street, will need to use Whitecross Street for loading and unloading.
From Monday 4 March, 3-way traffic lights will be in place for up to 10 days on Trafalgar Street at its junction with Whitecross Street.
