Understanding and managing anxiety at work

Understanding and managing anxiety at work

Brighton Chamber explores how to gain a better understanding of anxiety in an upcoming Q&A.

Anxiety is a common yet often misunderstood mental health concern that affects millions of people worldwide. As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, which aims to promote mental wellness and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, Amy Lishman - Head of Member Engagement and Deputy CEO at Brighton Chamber - will be joined by Anna Golawski of Stratus Coaching Ltd for a Q&A about anxiety.

Whether you're a manager looking to support your team, or you'd simply like to find out more about this misunderstood condition, this session will be an invaluable resource for anyone looking to gain a better understanding of anxiety, how to manage it effectively, or how to support others.

Topics covered will include:

• What is anxiety, and how does it differ to stress or burnout?

• What are the common signs and symptoms, and how can they manifest at work?

• Are there certain triggers or situations that tend to make anxiety worse?

• Why should businesses care about anxiety in the workplace?

• What strategies are helpful in managing anxiety? Are there any specific coping mechanisms or techniques that are particularly effective?

• How can leaders / managers support people at work?

There will be the opportunity to ask questions both in advance and during the event.
