A Retrofit Skills Plan for East Sussex

Sussex Chamber is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council and other partners to create a Retrofit Skills Plan for the East Sussex area.

Over the next decade we will see a significant increase in demand from the public sector and its partners, as well as from private homeowners and local businesses, for ‘retrofitting’ housing and other buildings in East Sussex. This will offer opportunities for those construction and engineering companies and trades people who have the right skills to win and deliver these contracts.

In order to prepare for this, it is important that we understand what our local employers, and those working in their supply chain, particularly in the construction sector are doing to improve their ‘retrofit’ skills, so that we can support them better through the Retrofit Skills Plan we are developing.

Therefore, Sussex Chamber would be grateful if you could take 5 minutes to complete this survey - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PJG65ZV - so that they can gain an evidence base and ensure that the proposed plan meets your organisation’s needs.

Sussex Chamber is seeking responses to the survey questions by the 3rd of December and can offer a £75 voucher to pay for or towards a retrofit related course at the East Sussex College Group Green Growth Hub to the first 150 respondents to this survey*. In addition, they are exploring ways of offering subsidised learning to those who express an interest in the wider raft of available courses in East Sussex.

*The course needs to be booked for Jan-March 2024.
