The Confident Business Series*

Wednesday 25 May – Wednesday 21 July 2022

The Confident Business is a free practical business support programme for any business in Brighton & Hove that’s been adversely affected by the pandemic and looking to review and reboot confidently into this year and beyond. Join small group workshops on four key topics: Pitch, Price, Customers and Tech, each covering a quadrant of the Business Model Canvas. You’ll come away with refreshed ideas, new confidence, and deeper thinking about your business. The programme also includes peer-to-peer networking sessions and opportunity to have a 121 with a business expert.

BIPC Relaxed Online Business Networking

Tuesday 7 June 2022, 12pm – 1pm

If you're looking for ways to connect with other business people, freelancers and those thinking of starting up, this is the place! The BIPC Relaxed Business Networking online sessions are informal online meetings where you can meet like-minded people and explore new connections. At this relaxed morning session with the BIPC team, we'll let the conversation flow. This month, we'll be heading into breakout rooms to talk about building customer relationships.

Introduction to Patents

Do you know how to protect your invention with a patent? Patents can be used to protect an invention and are just one form of Intellectual Property Rights that may be associated with your business. Discover in this session with the BIPC team what can be patented, how to carry out patent search and the process of patenting in the UK.

Using PR to build your Brand Visibility

Wednesday 15 June 2022, 10am – 11am

Getting in the paper or on the radio isn't as easy as it used to be. Journalists are inundated with press releases every day and media outlets work with skeleton staff. In this session with Rachael Dines, founder of Shake It Up Creative, you will learn the details about what makes the best stories and how to confidently pitch them to the local media.

Effective Planning for your Business /In-person/

Are you too busy working in your business to work on your business? Join this interactive in-person session with Ian and Suzie from Newboldology Ltd, who will take you through the ins and outs of effective business planning. You will start by taking a step back from the day-to-day, applying the all-important growth mindset and break down the essential elements of planning that you need to get right, to run your business successfully. The workshop is taking place at the Business & IP Centre in Jubilee Library.

This Recovery Innovation programme will develop your innovation skills and capability to create new products, services, processes or a new business model in response to the impact of Covid and Brexit. Delivered by a team of university business innovation experts, this flexible series will build your knowledge and confidence to drive innovation in your business. This workshop is suitable for business owners or innovation project managers working from within a small or medium-sized business.
