Inclusive marketing communications – how to do it and why it matters

A Q&A with Ellie Thompson, Senior Communications Officer at Diversity and Ability

Inclusive communications means sharing information in a way that everyone can access.

On 24 March 1-1.45pm, Brighton Chamber’s Head of Member Engagement, Amy Lishman, will be joined by Ellie Thompson, Senior Communications Officer at Diversity and Ability to chat about inclusive communications and why it matters.

In this 45-minute session we’re going to share some advice on how to create content that is accessible for all. We’ll look at why inclusive communications is important, tips to ensure that marketing material is visually and auditorily accessible and what you can do on different social media platforms to create inclusive content for all.

We’ll cover topics including:

• Why do we need to think about inclusive communications?

• How can we ensure communications are visually accessible?

• How can we ensure communications are auditorily accessible?

• What can we do to make our language and imagery more inclusive?

• Are the guidelines the same for every marketing platform?

There will be the opportunity to ask questions both in advance and during the event.

With thanks to our event sponsor, Barclays Eagle Lab Brighton.
