Join Sussex University Business School to network and hear from academics, local businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups on their journey to circularity and greater efficiency.
There are many great practical examples of circular business models from Caterpillar's remanufacturing and refurbishing of engines to Patagonia's clever 'Worn to Wear' scheme and our very own local electronics refurbishment initiative Tech-Takeback.
Increasingly, retail and commercial customers look for credible sustainability in the materials, products and services they buy.
But it's not easy and SMEs in particular face various challenges integrating circular actions. Legislation and the complexity of the term has contributed to misconceptions that the circular economy is costly and harmful to economic performance.
Despite these challenges, many businesses have successfully integrated circular actions or created a circular venture. How did they manage to do this? What challenges did they face and how did they overcome such challenges?
