Where have all the people gone? Brighton Chamber’s next Big Debate

Where have all the people gone? Brighton Chamber’s next Big Debate

At Brighton Chamber’s next Big Debate on 16 November, we’ll be looking at the labour market and the pressures on finding the right people.

Is the power really all with jobseekers? Are some sectors at more risk of unfilled vacancies than others, or is everyone feeling the pinch? Are employers tearing up the recruitment rulebook and having to be more creative to stand out?

Joined by expert guests, we’ll explore the challenges of recruitment and sustainable employment in a turbulent economy that only dreams of being high-wage and high-growth.

Chaired by Richard Freeman from always possible, including panellists:

Nye Cominetti, Senior Economist at the Resolution Foundation

• Lucy Smith, Founder of Digital Grads

• Vicky Haines, Managing Director of Kingsway Care

• Eric Kihlstrom, UK Ambassador at Aging2.0

Hear lightning talks, plus join an open discussion with our panellists, with networking and debate in small, facilitated groups.

With thanks to our event sponsor, Hartley Fowler:

“As a firm of Chartered Accountants we look for talented and professional people to join us at all stages of their career. In recent years, as is doubtless the case for many businesses, we have found it difficult to recruit for all levels and positions. Often, either candidates are not suitable or suitable candidates are highly sought after with a number of prospects available to them. In practice, this candidate driven market has increased the price of job roles within the sector. As a friendly, close-knit team, in addition to recruitment, we seek to promote staff internally and to focus on the retention of high calibre members of the firm”.
