Brighton's Phoenix Art Space wins big at Festival Awards

Phoenix Art Space is an award winning arts centre having won not one, but two awards at the Brighton Fringe Festival awards ceremony on Sunday evening. Both awards were for theircurrent exhibition breathTAKING  which explores the human condition from the perspective of communities still impacted by the legacies of colonialism.  It was particularly poignant as Jenni Lewin-Turner who curated the exhibition accepted the awards with the bitter sweet message to the audience that it has taken almost 30 years for her to feel that her voice is being heard.

The exhibition is being sponsored by the Centre for Arts and Wellbeing part of the University of Brighton and Arts Council England and runs for another two weeks .
