Your Questions Answered: How to access support with exporting from the Department of International Trade

Many businesses are looking at developing overseas markets to develop and grow their businesses. There is help and support to do this, some of it free of charge, and the Department of International Trade (DIT) is a good place to start. As well as the support they offer through 121s, events and training, they also have a huge global network that you can tap into.

On 12 August, 1-2 pm, Brighton Chamber’s CEO, Sarah Springford, will be joined by Lev Denker from DIT. Lev Denker is International Trade Advisor at the DIT. He has also been guest lecturer at University of Brighton and an Export Manager for a successful local exporter.

At this 60-minute (virtual) session we’ll discuss what’s on offer and how businesses can access support.

We’ll cover topics including:

• What is the DIT and the organisation Newable?

• What services does the DIT currently offer?

• How does a DIT Trade Advisor work with a business?

• What are the steps a company needs to take to get ready to export?

• How can exporting help a company to grow and increase its sales?

• What are the DITs extended networks in the UK and across the word and how can businesses benefit from these?

• Examples of how businesses have used this support to grow their exports.

• What’s the future of exporting and importing looking like?
