Allergen Awareness Training

Allergen Awareness Training

If you own a food business, it is a legal requirement that you provide information about 14 allergens when required and that the food you provide is safe. This is especially important for customers who live with food allergy or intolerance.

• Research carried out by the Food Standards Agency in partnership with Allergy UK and Anaphylaxis Campaign, has found that 60% of young people with food allergy or intolerance avoid eating out or ordering food because of the risks. However, more than half (59%) of them say that they often visit the same food outlet if they’ve eaten safely there before. This suggests that robust allergen info is good for business.

• Allergy UK are running monthly allergen awareness training sessions for caterers that will be held via Zoom, you will be provided the link to attend after booking via Eventbrite. The session will last for 3 hours and will cost £20 (+VAT) per person. There are 20 places available for each of the courses, so book early to avoid disappointment.
