Brighton Marina Business Neighbourhood Forum - Application for re-designation
The council is consulting on an application from Brighton Marina Business Neighbourhood Forum to formally renew its designation as a neighbourhood forum.
Brighton Marina Business Neighbourhood Forum was originally designated in June 2015 and its designation lasts for 5 years having expired in June 2020. If the renewal of the Forum is approved then the neighbourhood forum will be able to continue to draw up a neighbourhood development plan for the area.
Neighbourhood planning gives local people who live, work, or are elected representatives in an area the right to draw up a neighbourhood plan, setting out a vision for future development in the area. If the forum designation is made, no other organisation can be designated to draw up a neighbourhood plan for the area.
The neighbourhood area boundary remains identical to the original boundary that was designated in 2015. The consultation documents and details of the Brighton Marina Neighbourhood Forum can be found on the Council’s website at https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/content/planning/neighbourhood-planning/brighton-marina-neighbourhood-plan
You can comment on the neighbourhood forum re-designation application using the council’s consultation portal at https://consultations.brighton-hove.gov.uk/planning/brighton-marina-business-forum-renewal/ or by email to neighbourhoodplanning@brighton-hove.gov.uk. Representations will be placed on public file. The consultation closes on 15th September 2020.
