GB MET Apprenticeships: Chancellor Announces Increase in Incentive Payments

Following the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, announcing moves (on 08/07/20) to protect and retain jobs whilst kick starting training and employment opportunities for 16-25 year olds, GB MET has reconfirmed its commitment to supporting local businesses with their apprenticeship plans and strategies.

The Chancellor has put in place a time-limited increase in incentive payments for taking on new apprenticeships between August 2020 and January 2021 with an additional £2,000 for new 16-25 year old apprentices and £1,500 for those over 25.

The GB MET Apprenticeships Support Team is available at any time to assist and provide guidance on supporting businesses’ apprenticeship needs, how the new apprenticeships’ Standards and incentive funding works and full recruitment support, including the advertising of vacancies.

Please contact the MET’s Apprenticeships Support Team (E: kickstartyourcareer@gbmc.ac.uk) with your enquiries.

The team are currently working from home but are available to respond promptly by email and telephone.
