Celebrating the Resilience of Female Founders and Women in Business

Celebrating the Resilience of Female Founders and Women in Business

Using their collective experience of designing and hosting female entrepreneur-focussed initiatives, two Sussex-based founders are joining forces on Friday, 29 May to host RE-DEFINED - a new, virtual conference which will celebrate the successes and resilience of female founders and women in business.

Clare Griffiths, Founder of The Thrive Effect and Karen Stenning, Founder of Absolute Alchemy have carefully curated an exciting programme of inspirational talks and practical workshops to take entrepreneurs on a journey to help them re-define their businesses, during this time of unprecedented change where the actual way we do business has been, and continues to be, re-defined.

The conference will kick off with a motivational keynote speech by Kathy Caton, Founder and Managing Director of Brighton Gin, who will share her 9-year-long journey growing her award-winning brand of gin, whilst also recounting how she is currently navigating her way through the ever-changing economic landscape. After Kathy’s talk, a diverse range of female founders and women in business will deliver informative talks, workshops and panel discussions, reflecting the four conference themes - ‘My Voice: Re-defined’, ‘My Business: Re-defined’, ‘My Wealth: Re-defined’ and ‘My Mind: Re-defined’. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to network in small groups in order to make new connections.

Karen and Clare weren’t sure how businesses would respond to this new virtual conference but are delighted to have received generous support from Barclays Eagle Labs, Plus Accounting, Let’s Do Business Finance, Hatch Enterprise and Shake It Up Creative who have helped make this conference become a reality. Karen and Clare have also partnered with Rise - the Brighton-based charity supporting people affected by domestic violence and abuse, and 10 per cent of all ticket sales income will be donated to the charity.

Karen Stenning says, ‘The world is waking up to the power, resilience and determination of female leaders across the globe right now. Our virtual conference will be an opportunity to celebrate the female founders who have taken bold, innovative steps to build robust businesses prior to, and during, the Covid-19 pandemic’.
