Economic Partnership commissions flash research to hear from business during Covid-19 crisis
Over the last two weeks, the Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership has coordinated a response from businesses, small and large, to hear their concerns and how they are dealing with the Covid-19 crisis.
The world of work is now almost unrecognisable to what is was only a few weeks ago, and what was once unimaginable, is now the new normal. Businesses across the city and wider City Region have expressed a number of concerns including:
• Comms messaging to discourage recreational use of the internet during working hours • Stop on-line parking and encourage urban walking
• Ensure swift and easy access to the grant funds
• Digital Infrastructure - Boost broadband capacity
• Parking - Relax parking restrictions during the phased return to work so that people do not immediately return to trains
• Contracts and council services - Mend pot holes while there are less cars on the road
No contract penalties for delays or continuity failures
Relax the application of Housing Benefit overpayments
Relax Housing Benefit backdating restrictions to the start of the C19 outbreak
You can view the results in more detail here.
Over the coming weeks and months, the Brighton & Hove economic Partnership will continue to work to bring business issues to our local MPs and Council leaders. To get in touch with your thoughts, please email: gavin.stewart@bhep.co.uk.
