Economic Partnership hosts High Level Zoom Covid Consultation

On Friday 24th April, the Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership met online with the three local Brighton MPs, Senior Council Officers and a wide range of local businesses to discuss the economic response to the Covid Crisis.

A range of sectors were represented, including: Transport, Retail, Hospitality, Tourism, Sport, Property, Universities and many more.

The aim of the session was to give our local leaders a deeper feel for the prescient issues facing business now and in the lead up to the rebuild once the crisis is over.

Gavin Stewart, Executive Director said, β€œThe issues ranged from Government Grants, to private rents, Covid testing of restaurant staff and the events industry. Place making was also high on the agenda with a city like Brighton & Hove needing to maintain its position as the UKs premier seaside destination.  Over the coming weeks and months we hope to continue the discussion and focus down on specific sectors to see where they can support the local community and how Government can help them during the Pandemic.”
