Housing Market Report for 2018 Q1 (1 January to 31 March 2018)

  • Land Registry figures for March 2018 show the average cost to buy a home in the city is now £356,510 and has increased by 2.1% over the last year and is now 51% higher than the national average for England and Wales
  • With the exception of 1-bed flats, the average advertised cost to buy in the city has increased over the last year with studio flats showing the greatest increase at +13.1%. There has been no change in average advertised cost to buy a 1-bed flat.
  • With the exception of rooms and 2-bed flats, the average advertised cost to rent in the city has increased over the last year with 4-bed houses showing the greatest increase at +12%. In contrast the average advertised cost to rent room and a 2-bed flat has decreased over the last year with rooms showing the greatest decrease at -4.5%
